2010/11 school year - Download Application Form
- OPENINGS: A completed admission form places your family on our priority wait list. When an opening occurs, you will be contacted for a school visit, and offered a placement into the class of your preference. Currently, we have a few openings in our morning four year old class for the 2009-2010 school year. Please contact the Director for further information.
- Alumni Families: Siblings of alumni are given preference. Alumni admissions for the next school year begins each October. Contact Annette Daniels for details.
- Current Families: Current students are guaranteed space in the following year's program if they complete all necessary forms by the due dates and have completed their Fundraising and Workday credits for the current year.
- New Families: Our school year runs September to June. Admissions for the next school year begins each October. A detailed Admissions Packet, including dates, fees, and forms, for the next year is usually posted by October 15.
Friends does not select children by interview, testing, or demographics, but welcomes eligible new children into our programs whenever an opening occurs. The first day we start our registration list for the following school year is the last Saturday in October, with a call in system. After that day, other interested families are added to the list when they submit their application. Children are eligible to attend Friends when they meet the following criteria:
- They will be at least 3 years old by Dec 2 of the year in which they are enrolled.
- They will be potty trained by the start of school (no pull-ups please!)
We begin placing students in February. When your child's name is at the top of the list, you'll meet with our Director to tour the program desired for your child. All families are typically notified of their status by mid April.
OPENINGS - call 650-856-6152 for an update on present openings. We do sometimes have unexpected openings during the school year. If you're looking to start immediately, please contact us now about availability.
You can expect the following fees and deposits:
- $25 non-refundable application fee due with Application Form
- $125 non-refundable placement fee when you accept a spot in our program after your tour
- A one month tuition deposit due at placement. The deposit is applied to your June tuition installment. It is forfeited if your child doesn't attend Friends as planned.
School Visits
Each January, we hold an annual Open House (for adults only). This is an opportunity for you to tour our classrooms, see how we typically set up for a school day, meet the teachers, and ask questions. Outside of this event, we can't permit school visits until your name is next up on the Priority List. At that time, you and your child may visit the program(s) you are considering while class is in session. These 1/2 hour visits with our director typically occur in Feb-April. Once your child is enrolled, you are welcome to visit according to the guidelines in our Open Door Policy.
